In 1875, traveling shoe salesmen and friends, William H. Stacy and Henry L. Adams decided to join forces to form their own company. The Stacy Adams Shoe Company was born. With the goal of offering fashion-forward styles and quality craftsmanship, the company has withstood everything from the invention of the automobile and the airplane to a twelve-year depression and two World Wars. We’ve welcomed in the age of jazz, rock, rap, and hip hop, and through it all that ideal has held strong. As we turn 150, we want to celebrate our legacy with you, our customers, the fashionable men who have always pushed us to stay one step ahead of the latest trend. Here’s to the next 150.

FashUp + MakePromPossible: How It All Connects
FashUp is more than a fashion show — it’s a movement rooted in dignity, opportunity, and making sure every teen gets to experience prom.
FashUp was co-founded by Heather Perkins, founder of Ignite Change, and Jameelah Love, a former President of the Wisconsin Youth Advisory Council. In 2018, Ignite Change met Jameelah after she aged out of foster care. Through her story, we learned just how meaningful prom can be — and how many teens are left out simply because they can’t afford it.
That conversation sparked something.
We decided to roll up our sleeves and help — and FashUp was born.
What FashUp Does
FashUp is a professionally produced fashion show featuring teen models and local designers, raising both funds and awareness for the very real barriers young people face when it comes to attending prom. In Milwaukee, over 80% of public school students qualify for free and reduced lunch, making the cost of prom out of reach for many families. Since 2019, FashUp has helped send nearly 1,000 students to prom — and every year, the show sells out, because the need is real — and so is the community showing up to meet it.
Why MakePromPossible Exists
Not everyone can attend the show — but everyone should be able to be part of the impact. That’s why we created MakePromPossible.org — a way for anyone, anywhere, to help send teens to prom.Together:
Where the Funds Go
Funds raised through FashUp and MakePromPossible are distributed to organizations and schools that directly support teens. One of our long-standing partners is Cinderella Project MKE, part of the emPOWER YOUth Foundation — a nonprofit that has helped 1,000+ young women attend prom since 2009 by providing free dresses, workshops, and confidence-building experiences. But that’s just one part of the story. We also:
This allows us to reach students who might otherwise fall through the cracks — ensuring support goes where it matters most.
Why It MattersProm isn’t just a dance.It’s:
For many of our teens — especially those in foster care or facing financial hardship — it’s something they never thought they’d get to experience.Until now.
emPOWER YOUth Foundation's annual event is Cinderella Project MKE - one of the beneficiaries of FashUp. This non profit 501(c)(3) organization has helped send more than 1,000 youth to prom - empowering youth since 2009.
Prom is an important time for any high school student. Cinderella Project MKE aims to help alleviate some of the costs by providing a free prom dress to deserving young ladies in the community. Their goal is to instill self confidence and self worth with our workshops which we hope will lead to good decision making during this important time in their life.
The emPOWER YOUth mission is to eliminate negative barriers affecting youth and their families, replacing these obstacles by fostering self esteem with positive experiences that build autonomy, enhancing the community.
